Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Edwin G. Encarnacion Villar, doing business as GoParents (“GoParents,” “we,” “us”), for using the GoParents app and website (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
1. What GoParents is
GoParents helps parents find nearby places (restaurants, restrooms, activities, hospitals and clinics), keep family lists, and share locations with people they choose. It’s free, with no ads. GoParents is offered only in the United States.
2. Not an emergency service
In an emergency, call 911 first. DANGER ALERT only notifies the people you share your location with. It does not contact police, fire, ambulance or any emergency service, and alerts can be delayed or not delivered (for example, without signal, battery or notification permission).
3. Information may be wrong
Places, opening hours, photos, ratings and features come from public and third-party sources (such as OpenStreetMap, Refuge Restrooms, Google and Wikimedia) and from other parents. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Always check for yourself, for example that a restroom is open or a playground is safe for your child. Maps and directions are provided by Google Maps or Apple Maps under their own terms.
4. Who can use it
You must be an adult, or a minor using GoParents with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians decide whether and how children use Stay together and danger alerts.
5. Your part
- Share locations only with people who agreed to it, and only use Stay together and danger alerts for their purpose.
- Quick tags, answers and list items you add should be honest and appropriate. We may remove content or limit use that’s misleading or abusive.
- Don’t misuse the Service: no scraping, automated or excessive requests, attempts to get around its limits or security, or interfering with other people’s use.
You keep ownership of what you add. You allow us to store it and show it in the Service (for example, tags shown as totals to other parents) for as long as it’s there.
6. Tips
Tips (“Fuel the app”) are voluntary and don’t unlock anything: every feature is free for everyone. Tips are paid through Google Play or the App Store under their terms, including their refund policies. Monthly tips can be canceled any time in Google Play or App Store subscriptions. Tips are not tax-deductible donations.
7. Privacy
How we handle information is explained in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your data at any time; see Delete your data.
8. Changes and availability
We may change, pause or stop parts of the Service, and we may update these terms. If changes are significant, we’ll let you know in the app before they take effect. Using the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
9. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise that it will always work, be error-free or be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, GoParents is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for anything that happens at places you find through the Service. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in tips in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. Some states don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
